Merry Christmas 2008!!

It's been a busy year and my intentions were to mail out a traditional card, but seeing as it is Christmas Eve, I guess this will have to do. Today was a great day! The young women have been gathering presents from ward members this month and Santa showed up to help us deliver them! We helped wrap, gathered and delivered to 6 families and heard lots of excitement, gratitude and talk of miracles! It was wonderful to be a part of giving this year as we have been so incredibly blessed at a difficult time in our world! We were able to get a few pictures with us and Santa before the deliveries started! This will be a great Christmas memory!
Here is a poem we put together to send out in the mail, I guess it will be posted on the blog instead! Maybe next year....

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

C …is for Chem-Dry, which has been such a blessing in our life. It has provided well for our family and allowed us to work with great people, including Derek’s sister Robbin who moved here from Denver to be our office manager

H …is for Home, after 6 years in Wichita, we now call it home and really have grown to love this place and are grateful for the great friendships we have formed here and opportunities we have had to learn and grow

R …is for reading, Grace has become quite the reader this year in first grade and loves to read and write everything! Sure makes life a lot easier for all of us

I …is for Isabella who is in Pre-K and loves her new independence

S …is for Sophia, our 16 year old German foreign exchange student who is living with us this school year. We know was meant to be part of our family and we are grateful for this year to be have her

T …is for time, being able to be a full-time mom at home allows me lots of quality time with the kids and new hobbies like reading books and creating our family blog

M …is for the messes that Brock makes, although the first year can be hard, I wouldn’t change it for anything

A …is for the athlete Jaxson has become. As a second grader, he loves basketball, baseball and soccer and is excited to add football on next year. He is very lucky to have a dad with so much free time to spend with him practicing on his skills

S …is for the Savior who is the center of our home. We are thankful to have this wonderful time to reflect on Him and all He has done for us!

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009!

Hey Kris and family, I'm so far behind on my emails I'm just barely looking at this! That's cool you have a foreign exchange student. I would love to do that someday. I'm glad to see you're all doing so well!
