Sophi's Prom at Heights!

Sophi went to Prom with a friend from church, Jeff Meyers! She looked beautiful, Bella told her she had a pretty wedding dress! LOL!
We took pictures at the Waterfront by PF Changs!

During pictures it started to rain...we ran back to the car, but we all got a little wet! Good times!

Women's Conference!

I left my camera in Utah and just got it back today(thanks Jibby). The last week of April, I flew to Utah(thanks to my wonderful Sophi who missed her flight and stayed overnight in Houston and gave me her free flight!) for Women's Conference at BYU! We have going for the last 15 years! It's been over 2 years since I went last and we had a great time! All of us sisters, my mom and Jenny(sister-in-law) were able to come this year. We stayed in a hotel in Orem the first two nights and at Jan's house the last night, when Kenise joined us! We laughed a lot, had good food, shed tears, stayed up late and we were even spiritually uplifted with the classes at conference! What more can you ask for!!
Dad even joined us for dinner one night...and treated!! Thanks pops!
I missed my family but felt a great appreciation for Derek as he stayed back with all 5 kids and kept our busy schedule running!

Mother's Day!

I love my kids and feel so blessed to have them in my life! They brought me breakfast in bed and made me cute mother's day cards at church. Derek has had them take care of me all day and he's been a wonderful father! It's been fun to have a teenage daughter too this year! I also think of all the other mothers my kids are blessed with in their life. Today we celebrate all of us!

River Run 2009

Sophi and I ran in the 10K this year for Wichita River Festival. This was Sophi's first 10K and she was nervous and since I just dislike running, I was really nervous. We both agreed that we would walk if we needed to, but that our goal was to finish in under an hour. Last year, I ran the Boulder Boulder with Stacie and DA and my time was 1hr and 8 min. I have been running more since then, so I hoped to improve my time.
The weather this year was great, a little cool but the sun kept peaking out! We ran with a friend, Kate Gonda too. The horn blew and nothing happened, there were so many people there, it literally took us about 2 min. just to walk through the start line. Once we got going, we weaved in and out of people and started at a pretty fast pace. We lost Kate somewhere in the start. About mile 2, my head ached, and I was getting ready to start to walk. I told Sophi to go ahead without me, but she kept slowing down to stay with me and keep me running. At about mile 4, Kate came running by us, but we were still running...At mile 5, Sophi encouraged me to keep running and pick up the pace a little. I was listening to Jaxson's MP3 which was slow Jo Bro's songs. So, with about 400 yards left, Sophi swiches songs with me and had me listen to some pumpin music and then we sprinted the last 100 yards! I was dead tired, but we finished in 58 minutes and 45 seconds!!!
I am so grateful for Sophie, she was such a great coach to keep me going and help me finish the race and make my goal!
She is amazing, she felt so great after that she went on to run the 2 miler with Grace and her friend Stephanie Gonda. The finished in 21 minutes. Jaxson and his friend Brian Gonda finished in 17 minutes!! They are awesome little runners!! I'm so proud of them all! Derek says he is working on P90X right now and afraid to hurt himself in the race and put off his workouts..but wait until next year baby!!!

Isabella's birthday party to Hawaii!!

Yesterday was a great day as we celebrated Isabella's 5th birthday! She invited over 8 little friends and between her older siblings and neighborhood friends, we had lots of helpers. Sophi was in charge of photos and took 297 pictures...wish we could share them all!
They arrived at 3pm for take off, Jaxson as pilot and Grace and friends as flight attendants, they passed out pretzels and juice boxes! Bella and friends as passengers.

Then each one recieved a ley as they left the plane and headed to the backyard for Hawiian snacks and games!

We had a baby pool with water, hula hoop, limbo, tamboline, big yellow slide, water balloon fights, squirt guns, etc.

It was great weather and the kids had a blast! We had so much help that I really got to sit back and enjoy the party. Love you Bella, thanks for inspiring such a fun birthday theme...thank you Robbin for such great decorations!!
