BYU gear!

The kids love when I come home from Woman's Conference because of the fun BYU gifts! They have 6 cousins that are currently attending one of the BYU's and lots of family alumni and future plans to attend themselves, so they love to sport the gear! This year was especially fun because of Jimmer #32

Women's Conference

As always, it was another great year at BYU Woman's conference! Thanks to all the babysitters, it's so nice to have such great help and support!

Easter with DA

We were so happy to have Dawnanne visiting with us, as it was my surgery weekend. She was a huge help! This year the Easter color was baby blue, but Tylie was the only one that got her picture taken on Easter day. (dress compliments to Aunt Stacie)
Grace organized a couple of Easter egg hunts for the neighborhood and our kids, but mostly we had fun hanging out with DA! Thanks again for all your help!

Amyarie comes to visit

We feel so lucky that Amyarie decided to spend her spring break with us this year. She was such a big help! Fabulous dinners, lots of kid playing time, reading..to herself and the kidos, shopping and ended with Freddy's!!

Spring has sprung

There's a little bird with a scarlet breast. Outside my home, she builds her nest. And all day long and through the night, she sings her song cheap cheap! (discovery and pictures by the kids)

Spring Dance Recital

After a fun day of April fooling...(telling kids it's a snow day until they look out the window, cream cheese replacing Derek's deodorant, ketchup and toothpaste put in donut holes....) the girls had their dance recital at the Bel Aire Rec Center. As I got my camera out to record, my batteries were missing, so a friend recorded it and will email me a copy soon that I can put on! The girls did fabulous and it was a lot of fun to watch!





After the recital, we took all the kids to a "boring" church meeting and ended up at the Drive-In, "april fools"!! We saw Hop which was darling and Rango which was torture to have to stay up and watch! We met Rogers and Bulls there and it was a fun, although very late night, for adults and kids!!

The 5th Pregnancy!

Stacie came and left, G-ma and G-pa came and left, spring break came and left, flu came to mom(almost leaving..I hope), so now I have some time to write about the 5th and final birth of Tylie Jane Acker!

Here I am the night before I go to the hospital!
For Stacie's b-day, we went and got spray tans and mani's/pedi's! Perfect pampering day before the big event! (one of us didn't get the spray tan...can you guess who?? lol)

Stacie, Derek and I went into Wesley Hospital at 7am on 3/11/2011 while G-ma and G-pa got the kids off to school. After a fun RS dinner party and a homeopathic shooter to get this labor started..I was still only dilated to a 2! So they started the pitocin and the progress was SLOW! After a few hours, contractions got a little more painful and I started to get really bad back pain so I had them bring on the epidural! I went with a really low dose which proved to be just perfect! Then we waited....Derek and Stacie went to lunch at Chipolte and nibbled on food while I sat and watched them as I starved the day away(ok, mostly Derek)! We had lots of fun talks, tried to figure out baby names and took little rests! Our nurse was quite chatty and piped in when she got a chance! The kids called very disappointed that their sister didn't arrive and they were already done with school and begged me to ask the doctor how much longer! Around 6, I started getting really sick and I was still only a 5 (which hadn't changed in a few hours). They kept telling me the sickness was good, that was a sign of transitioning, but I didn't feel so good! My nurse had finished her 12 hours with me and at 7pm, introduced me to my new nurse, a male! I was sick, tired, hungry and the last thing I wanted was a new nurse and a male at that. Well, before my nurse left, they checked me one more time and I had quickly progressed to a 10!! Within minutes they had everything ready and my original nurse waited for the big delivery! Dr. Kauffman showed up, during half-time of the KU game, and at 7:45 pm a beautiful, healthy baby girl was born weighing 6lbs 15oz and 19.5 inches long (my smallest baby), still without a name!
Dr. Kauffman told me this was the same room where his wife delivered their last child, Tyler. It was room 11, she was born on 3/11/11, our Tyler loved the band 311...and maybe it was Stacie's sweet presence in the room, but this was one of my most spiritual births! It was peaceful, calm, I felt very alert and as Stacie said, you could feel her spirit as she joined us in this world and I know there were others there too, the air was very thick and warm! I'm sure Ty was there and other loved ones! It was clear to me that from that point she would be called Tylie Jane Acker (Kennedi and Olivia coming in close seconds). It is such a different name, yet similar to other loved ones in our life but I had a hard time committing to the name, yet I knew that was it..so did Derek! We officially named her the next day with the approval of all 4 kids!

And there was plenty of love to go around for Tylie Jane! Never a moment with arms not extended to hold her! Sooo much love!

This pregnancy, delivery and recovery has had it's challenges, but again, is worth every minute of it all! We feel complete to have our last little girl join us and everyone in the family has acclimated to her so well! They run home from school, wash their hands and jump in to help out or hold or change diapers and clothes! Brock takes little time outs during his playing to gently kiss her on the head and tell her he loves her..as he asks me to remind him of her name again! :)
What a lucky and blessed mom I am!
I am so grateful to our extended family as well, especially Stacie, mom and dad who were able to be out here to help and support and make this such a wonderful experience for us all! We miss you already!
We had an outpouring of thoughts, calls, gifts, meals etc. to welcome Tylie to this world! Such great friends and family! Here are some cookies that were sent to the kids with their names, and more flowers!
Of coarse, the biggest and greatest thanks goes to the best husband in the world! He has been incredibly busy at work but has gone over and above at home! I could never go through all of this without his support and love! He's so great to sit on the side, taking it easy when I need that and in a moments notice to jump in and cut the chord or "clean up quick..someone is coming over" or whatever else I need in a moments notice! I love you Derek Joseph Acker! You have made me a very happy girl!
